Lulé Lulé Bags — Premium leather bags, handmade in Medellín
Lulé Lulé Bags is a Colombian premium leather bag brand founded in 2018 in Medellín, Colombia. We make handcrafted bags for women with their own sense of style: pieces of genuine leather, hand-selected, sewn in our workshop by a specialized artisan team, and designed by someone who wears them every day. We are not a catalog brand. We are a brand with a real story in every piece.
The origin — how an unresolved need becomes a brand
In 2018, the founder of Lulé Lulé Bags was managing two high-demand projects at once: the launch campaign for the Museum of Modern Art of Medellín — a bid she won, which included curating a local design fair — and the marketing direction of a private aviation company operating in Miami. Two worlds where detail is not optional.
She needed a specific bag: large, in real leather, able to carry a laptop without losing elegance, that could stand alongside international clients and executives, and that felt completely like her. She searched with the eye of someone who knows the difference between what is truly good and what only looks it. She didn't find it.
So I made it. Not because I knew how — but because no other option convinced me.
Without knowing anything about bag-making, she visited Medellín's leather suppliers, found someone who could bring her vision to life, and created the first four O.G. Bags from a single piece of leather. She sold them all on the first day at the Museum of Modern Art fair. In that moment, she knew.
The brand was born as ONE PEACE in 2018 — a name with three products and an origin philosophy. In 2021, the name changed to Lulé Lulé: feminine, floral, inspired by a Romani love song. A name that feels like the brand it already was.
How each piece is made
Every Lulé Lulé bag is made by hand in our own workshop in Medellín, by a skilled artisan team specialized in leather goods. The process includes cutting, structural assembly, stitching, and final finishing — all carried out with genuine care, not industrial speed.
The founder personally selects every batch of leather before it enters the workshop. There are no intermediaries in that decision: she touches, evaluates, and chooses. The leathers come from long-established Colombian tanneries — Medellín and its surroundings have a deep tradition in leatherwork that is part of what makes each piece special.
Collections are small by conviction, not by constraint. Making fewer pieces with more attention is the only way to ensure that what arrives in your hands is exactly what we promise. A Lulé Lulé bag ages with dignity. The stitching holds. Five years later, it's still the one you reach for.
The philosophy — the filter no other brand dares to have
Every Lulé Lulé design starts from a real need of the founder — functional and aesthetic at the same time. The filter is not the market, not the trend, not what sells. The filter is her.
If she wouldn't wear it with pride and authenticity, it doesn't exist.
This is not a brand statement. It is the real method from day one. The O.G. Bag, the Reptilia Bag, the Hendrix Bag, the Duo Bag — every design solves something the founder needed and couldn't find anywhere. None of them came from a brainstorming session. All of them came from a conversation between her, the leather, and a life that demands certain objects.
This is what we call Artisan Knowledge. Knowing Luxury — not as a tagline, but as an exact description of what lies behind each piece. We don't do mass discounts because a discount on a handcrafted leather piece doesn't build trust: it destroys it. What we offer is an investment in something that will last for years and improve with use.
Seven years, a presence across the Americas, a Colombian supply chain
Since 2018, Lulé Lulé Bags has operated from Medellín with customers in Colombia and shipping to more than eight countries across the Americas — the United States, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Growth has been entirely organic: no mass advertising, no physical store, no backing from a fashion conglomerate. Only pieces that are exactly what they claim to be, and a network of women who recommend with the conviction of someone who discovered something real.
Every bag purchased is a direct contribution to Colombian artisan leatherwork. The workshop employs specialized craftspeople in Medellín. The leather comes from local suppliers. The entire supply chain operates within the country. Buying Lulé Lulé Bags is not just acquiring a quality piece — it is sustaining a craft with history, in a city that knows how to make things well.
Manuela Restrepo Henao — founder
Manuela Restrepo Henao, founder of Lulé Lulé Bags, is a publicist and graphic designer with a focus on brand identity, and a creative director with a track record in high-level Colombian and international brands. She has led campaigns for large-scale companies and built communication strategies that deeply understand the market, the consumer, and brand identity.
Today, she works exclusively on Lulé Lulé Bags. She designs every piece, personally selects the leathers, and is the face, model, and voice of the brand. She does not delegate her aesthetic judgment or her connection with customers — because she knows, from her background in brand communication, exactly what every image, every word, and every piece leaving the workshop communicates.
Her style is recognized and admired even by women who dress nothing like her. That authenticity — the kind that transcends personal taste — is exactly what transfers into every bag she designs. The brand is hers. And that is not a vulnerability. It is her most genuine and irreplaceable asset.
